Welcome to our online campaign headquarters.  I want to personally express my gratitude for your civic engagement in actively learning about why I'm asking for both your support and vote.  I've chosen to pursue public service because I feel a strong sense of responsibility towards this community that has given my family the chance to live the American Dream.  I feel the desire to give back and would love the opportunity to do so.  Once elected, I will work to ensure that everyone in the community can access the resources needed to achieve their own version of the American Dream.

Being a first generation American, I am troubled by the fact that so many of my fellow hard-working citizens are suffering through such tough times, while our state government seems gridlocked in a state of disrepair.  It is for this reason that I have decided to run for the State House of Representatives, to help solve the many problems that we all face.

As a lifelong resident of this district, I have seen years of growth and booming development replaced by contraction and recession.  I was raised in the South Shore area and attended public schools my entire life, from Apollo Beach Elementary to New College of Florida—where I graduated with degrees in Political Science and Economics.  I then moved to Washington D.C. to attend Georgetown Law School.  Subsequently, I went to work for the World Trade Organization in Europe.  Having experienced both Washington and Europe, I decided to return home and build a career here, where my roots are. 

Since coming home, I have seen the American Dream that my family was able to achieve become unreachable for far too many Floridians—especially in our District.  I see too many of our neighbors struggling with unemployment and foreclosure, an education system failing our children, and an environment at great risk.  All the while our state legislature has been crippled by mismanagement, cronyism, and corruption.

I believe that we as voters and residents of this district deserve new, better representation in Tallahassee.  Why allow your precious vote to endorse the same old tired school of politics that puts partisanship and special interests at the top of an all too often hidden agenda?
